Balsamic Vinegar

Balsamic vinegar is acidic and thin-bodied, so it migrates into any imperfect seal and attacks unsuitable film layers. A low-viscosity liquid finds the smallest channel left in a seal, and once inside the seam it keeps working on the sealant layer and on any exposed laminate edge. Packaging lines pair acid-resistant high-barrier laminates with precise liquid dosing and a drip-free shut-off nozzle. The thin body that makes the product easy to pump also makes it unforgiving about seal integrity and the last drop at the nozzle tip. A balsamic vinegar filling machine works with volumetric liquid dosing. A piston or pump draws a measured volume from the product tank and delivers it through a shut-off nozzle that closes cleanly at the end of every stroke, so the pack reaches the sealing jaws with a dry sealing area. Because the product is thin and fast-flowing, nozzle geometry and shut-off timing control tailing and splashing. Contact parts, gaskets and seals are specified for continuous contact with a low pH liquid, and the dosing circuit is laid out for CIP. Single-serve sachets and portion sticks for salads and food service keep dosing consistent from the first pack to the last. The stick pack is the slimmer format: it suits table caddies, salad kits and dressing sets, and gives one portion the user tears and pours in a single movement. The sachet, produced on a multilane sachet packaging machine, offers a wider seal area and a larger printable face, which catering packs, hotel trays, airline service and retail multipacks usually need. Both formats are formed, filled and sealed from the same film web, so the choice is mainly portion size and shelf presentation. Dosing runs between 3 and 10 ml per pack, from the small dressing portion at the low end to the food service sachet at the high end. Output depends on how many lanes the pack width allows, because these are multilane machines and the cycle rate is not the pack rate. On an MSM1200 a narrow pack allows 12 lanes and the line reaches up to 960 packs per minute; the same machine with a wider pack runs 6 lanes and delivers up to 480 packs per minute.
