High-performance packaging systems engineered for liquid and viscous products. Backed by decades of industry experience and in-house engineering, our servo-driven volumetric piston fillers feature custom-designed shut-off nozzles that guarantee zero-drip precision and consistent grammage. From free-flowing beverages to thick pastes like ketchup and mayonnaise, these systems are built with high-grade stainless steel and Clean-In-Place (CIP) readiness to meet the strictest food safety standards.
Honey is dense, sticky and slow-flowing at room temperature, but overheating damages its enzymes and colour. That narrow window is the real problem for anyone specifying a honey packaging machine: too cold and the product will not move through the line at any useful rate, too warm and you lose exactly the properties the buyer is paying for. Honey also crystallises over time, shifts in viscosity from batch to batch depending on floral source and moisture content, and leaves a film on every surface it touches. Whatever it wets, it keeps wetting, which is why the last millilitre of a dose matters as much as the first. Temperature-controlled product paths bring it to a workable viscosity gently, holding the hopper and the lines at a steady condition instead of heating hard and fast. The dose itself is handled by piston filling with a shut-off nozzle: a positive-displacement stroke moves a measured volume regardless of how thick the product is, and the shut-off nozzle cuts the flow cleanly at the end of the stroke so that no thread of honey reaches the seal jaws. A contaminated seal is the most common failure mode on sticky liquids, and it does not show up on the line but days later as a leaker in the case. Contact parts are laid out for full drainage and CIP, because dried honey residue in a dead leg is far harder to remove than fresh product. Portion sticks and sachets for breakfast service and retail are where dosing precision directly meets food cost. A stick pack is what hotel, airline and cafe channels buy in volume: one portion, one opening, no spoon, and a shape that fits a breakfast tray or an amenity box. A sachet does the same job in a wider, flatter form and carries a larger dose comfortably, which makes it the usual choice for retail multipacks and for sampling. VFFS pillow bags cover food-service portions and larger fills where the pack does not have to be single-serve. The practical dose range for honey on these machines is 5 to 15 ml. Output is a function of lane count, and lane count is set by pack width: a narrow stick fits more lanes across the same web than a wide sachet. On an MSM1200, twelve lanes of narrow stick pack reach up to 960 packs per minute, while the same machine configured with six lanes for a wider pack runs up to 480 packs per minute. The cycle rate is the same in both cases; the pack count is not. Mentpack builds this as a honey stick pack machine or a honey sachet packaging machine on ARTISTICK (1-5 lanes), HSM (1-3), ISM400 (2-5), ISM600 (3-7), MSM800 (4-10), MSM1200 (6-12), SPM320 (1-8), SPM800 (4-12) and SPM1200 (7-12). Typical customers are honey packers and cooperatives, breakfast and HORECA suppliers, private-label fillers working for retail chains, and airline and hotel caterers who need a portion honey filling machine holding a consistent fill across every lane.
