Motor oil is a low-surface-tension fluid that finds every microscopic seal channel. A film only a few molecules thick left on the sealing band is enough to stop two layers of laminate from bonding, and a pack that looked sound on the machine leaks weeks later in a distribution box. Oil-resistant laminates and tightly controlled seal parameters keep single-dose sachets leak-free through distribution. Top-up sachets for workshops and roadside kits are the typical format — accurate dosing, tough film, and seals that survive a glovebox. Viscosity moves with ambient temperature as well, so a dose set on a cool morning has to hold through a hot afternoon shift. Filling is volumetric. A servo-driven piston draws a measured volume on each stroke and delivers it through a shut-off nozzle that closes positively as the stroke ends, cutting the stream instead of letting it trail. With an oil this thin, that cut-off carries the format: the nozzle enters the pack, fills low and retracts clean, so nothing reaches the seal band. Fill speed is profiled rather than flat, so the liquid settles at the base of the pack instead of washing the walls. Contact parts, gaskets and hoses are chosen for oil resistance, and jaw temperature, pressure and dwell are held to a proven recipe. Both stick pack and sachet formats are in use. The stick pack is the natural single top-up dose: narrow, opened with one hand over a filler neck, and cheap enough per dose to go out with a filter or a service. The four-side-seal sachet is flatter, carries more print area, and takes the upper end of the dose range, which suits rack display in the automotive aftermarket. Doses run from 5 to 15 ml. Output is a question of lanes rather than cycles, because these are multi-lane machines and the lane count follows pack width. An MSM1200 on a narrow pack runs 12 lanes and reaches up to 960 packs per minute; the same machine on a wide pack runs 6 lanes and up to 480 packs per minute.
