Perfume Tester

Perfume testers dose fractions of a millilitre of a volatile, solvent-based liquid — the finest filling task in the sachet world. The alcohol carrier starts to evaporate the moment it meets air, so the time between the nozzle opening and the seal closing is part of the recipe: what is lost there is lost as volume. The same solvent attacks unsuitable sealant layers and gaskets, and it creeps along the seal track instead of staying in the pocket. Micro-dosing systems, alcohol-resistant films and tight seal control keep every sample identical and evaporation-proof. Fragrance concentrates also stain, so a single drop left in the seal area is visible on the shelf. For fragrance houses the sachet is a marketing instrument, so print quality and seal cosmetics are part of the specification. A perfume tester filling machine works with volumetric liquid dosing: a servo-driven positive-displacement unit draws a measured volume and delivers it through a shut-off nozzle that closes on the product, so no thread or droplet is left hanging over the sealing jaws. The low viscosity of the fluid allows a short, fast stroke, and repeatability at these volumes comes from the mechanical stroke itself. Nozzles, seals, hoses and the dosing chamber are selected for solvent compatibility, and the product path has to be drained and flushed between fragrances: scent carry-over from one reference to the next is as much a defect as an underfill. Both formats are used, and the same platform is configured either as a perfume tester stick pack machine or as a wider sachet line. The stick pack is the narrow single-dose carrier that fits inside a magazine, a mailer or an e-commerce parcel, and most retail sampling programmes are built around it. The three or four side seal sachet gives a wider printable face, so it is chosen when the sample has to carry brand artwork, or when it is mounted on a card or a scent strip for counter and direct-mail use. Either way the pack is opened once and discarded, so tear behaviour and seal integrity matter more than pack volume. The dosing range on this product is 1 to 5 ml. Output depends on pack width, because these are multi-lane machines and the number of lanes is set by how wide the pack is: an MSM1200 running narrow packs works with 12 lanes and reaches up to 960 packs per minute, while the same machine on a wide pack runs 6 lanes and up to 480 packs per minute. Lane count, dosing unit and film specification are matched to the pack you intend to sell. A perfume tester sachet packaging machine is usually bought by fragrance houses, cosmetics brands with their own filling lines, and the contract fillers and private-label co-packers who run their sampling campaigns: magazine inserts, counter sampling, travel-retail kits and the samples that go into e-commerce orders.
