Shampoo

Shampoo foams aggressively and its fragrance attacks some sealant layers, so filling profiles and film chemistry both matter. Product whipped on the way to the nozzle carries air into the pack, and that air returns as short fill weight, a contaminated seal line or a pack that looks half empty on the shelf. Viscosity is not a fixed figure either: it shifts with the formulation, with thickening and pearlising agents, and with plant temperature, so a dosing system tuned on one batch has to hold its accuracy on the next. Surfactants creep as well, and a thin film left on the sealing area is enough to open a channel in the seam, while the fragrance keeps working on that seam for months in a warm, humid bathroom. A shampoo filling machine at Mentpack therefore works with servo-driven positive displacement dosing. Piston or pump volume is set electronically, and the nozzle profile — measured acceleration, a steady middle, a slow finish — is what stops the liquid from cavitating and foaming as it enters the film. Controlled nozzle speeds fill without cavitation, and a shut-off nozzle cuts the stream cleanly so nothing strings onto the sealing area. Surfactant-proof seals stay tight in humid bathrooms, and wetted parts, gaskets and hoses are selected for long contact with detergent bases and fragrance oils. CIP connections let the line be flushed between fragrances and colours without dismantling the dosing group. Three formats cover most of the demand in shampoo sachet packaging machine projects. The stick pack carries a single wash: narrow, easy to tear, cheap to distribute in strips, and the format most shampoo stick pack machine enquiries start from. The three- or four-side sealed sachet takes a slightly larger dose and offers a full printed front panel, which is why retail, hotel amenity and sampling volumes run on it; the single-use sachet remains a global retail phenomenon — in many markets it is the primary way shampoo is sold. Pillow bags produced on VFFS equipment cover larger portions and refill packs. Dose range on these machines is 5–15 ml. Output depends on how many lanes fit across the film web, and lane count follows pack width: an MSM1200 running narrow packs on 12 lanes reaches up to 960 packs per minute, while the same machine on a wider pack runs 6 lanes and up to 480 packs per minute.
