Packaging Notes

Shaving cream is an aerated, unstable foam system that collapses under rough handling. The air held inside the cream is part of the product rather than a defect — it is what builds volume on the skin — and once that structure is beaten out by a fast pump, a sharp corner in the product path or a long drop into the pack, what reaches the customer is a flat paste that no longer performs. The second constraint is residue. The formulation is soapy and slippery, it climbs the surfaces it touches, and anything it leaves in the sealing zone turns into a weak or contaminated seal a few stations later. A shaving cream packaging machine is judged on both points at once: texture preserved, sealing area kept dry. Low-shear dosing preserves its texture. The cream is moved gently through a short, wide path with generous radii, and the filling stroke runs at a speed that carries the foam rather than works it. Piston-type volumetric dosing suits this behaviour, because the product is displaced as a body at a controlled rate instead of being accelerated and sheared on its way into the pack; a shaving cream filling machine for this product is therefore built around gentle displacement, not pressure. Shut-off nozzles keep slippery residue away from seals: the nozzle closes at the end of the stroke, holds the tail of the dose back and lifts without stringing, so the film stays clean where the jaws will close. Contact parts, gaskets and hoses are selected for a surfactant-rich product, and the product path is arranged for CIP so soap and fragrance residue do not carry between batches. Single-use sachets serve hotels, airlines and barber supply — small doses, cosmetic presentation, reliable opening. A shaving cream sachet packaging machine builds the four-side seal format, which gives a flat panel for branding and a predictable tear line. Aeration, density and viscosity are measured on the sample before fill volume and stroke are fixed, because a whipped formulation and a denser one behave differently at the same setting. Multi-lane machines fill several packs per cycle and the lane count follows the pack width, so the packs-per-minute figure moves with the format you choose rather than being one fixed number. On VFFS there is no lane multiplication — one cycle is one bag. The machine configuration is confirmed after a trial fill with your own product: target dose, pack width and chosen format decide which of the Mentpack liquid and paste lines fits. Typical users are hotel and airline amenity programmes, barber and salon suppliers, travel retail, sampling projects for razor and personal care brands, and contract packers filling cosmetics for third-party labels.
