Sunscreen Cream

Sunscreen is a regulated emulsion whose UV filters must stay homogeneous — dosing cannot separate the formula. A sun care cream carries organic filters in the oil phase and often mineral particles in suspension; if it is over-sheared, aerated or left standing in a dead leg of the supply, the filter distribution in one pack stops matching what the label declares. Viscosity is not constant either — a cream thins as it is worked and recovers as it rests — so the dosing system has to repeat the same volume while the product changes character. Add the tackiness of a cream at the nozzle and the high-barrier film that protects efficacy all the way to the beach bag, and the job is as much about protecting the formula as filling it. The shut-off nozzle cuts cleanly and lifts from the film, keeping a tacky cream out of the seal area, where contamination is the usual cause of leaking packs. Cycles and packs are not the same figure: cycles multiply by lanes, and dose volume, film and pack size all move the result.
