Spirulina is an ultra-fine algae powder with intense pigment — it stains everything, and its nutrients degrade in light and oxygen. Those two facts set the terms for the line. The particles are very light, so any open transfer puts a green cloud into the room; it settles on frames, photocells and sealing jaws, where a trace of pigment marks the next pack and weakens the seal. Being non-free-flowing, spirulina does not pour on demand: it bridges over the hopper outlet, compacts under its own weight and changes apparent density as the hopper empties. Auger dosing is the method, for a specific reason. A volumetric cup measures volume, not weight; with a powder that compacts differently at every hopper level, volume and weight drift apart and fill weights wander.
