Turkish Coffee

Turkish coffee is ground to flour fineness — the most dust-prone grind in coffee — and its aroma is the entire product. That pairing defines the whole packaging problem. A powder this fine is non-free-flowing: it bridges over hopper outlets, holds air and then gives it back, and lifts into a cloud at every drop and transfer. Airborne fines settle on the sealing area, and a seal closed over a film of coffee dust is a weak seal — a slow leak that ends the shelf life long before the date printed on the pack. Aroma is the other half of the problem. A fine grind has enormous surface area, so it releases volatiles and takes on oxygen and moisture faster than any coarser coffee. The line has to protect what the roaster built, not merely move powder into film. Enclosed auger dosing controls micron-scale dust. An auger is the right answer for a non-free-flowing powder because accuracy comes from counted turns of the screw under servo control, not from the product's willingness to fall on its own. A hopper agitator keeps the bed live and breaks bridging before it forms, and the fill tube runs down into the pack so the drop is short and the powder is placed rather than poured. The path stays closed from hopper to pack, which keeps the sealing jaws clean and holds dose repeatability across the run. Volumetric cup and free-fall systems depend on consistent flow, and this grind does not provide it. A Turkish coffee stick pack machine is the format customers ask for first: one stick is one cezve, and it brings dose consistency to a ritual measured for centuries by spoon. Sachet formats serve hotel and airline service, sampling, and retail multipacks where a flat pack stacks and prints well.
