Powder (Non-Free Flowing)

Vegan Protein

Advanced packaging technology designed specifically for non-free-flowing powders. Utilizing state-of-the-art servo-driven auger fillers, our machines deliver exceptional dosing accuracy for challenging products like powder coffee, milk powder, protein powder, baking powder, macrogol, and chemicals. Engineered with anti-dust architectures and independent agitation systems to prevent bridging and ensure perfect seal integrity.

Packaging Notes

Pea, rice and hemp proteins are fibrous, low-density and notoriously reluctant to flow. Their particles are irregular and flake-like rather than granular, so the powder interlocks instead of sliding: it bridges over the hopper outlet, forms rat-holes above the dosing screw, then releases in a rush when the arch collapses. Bulk density shifts between blends and between batches, so a setting that gave the right weight last week can run short today. The fine fibre fraction separates and travels as airborne dust, settling on jaws and sealing faces where it causes weak or leaking seams. Agitated hoppers and auger profiles tuned per blend prevent bridging, while dust management keeps fine fibres off the seals. This is why a vegan protein filling machine is built around auger dosing rather than volumetric cups or free fall. The screw takes its dose by displacement under a controlled fill, so it stays repeatable with a material that will not settle predictably on its own. The hopper is agitated to keep the column above the screw live without whipping air into the powder, and screw pitch, flight geometry and outlet tube are matched to the blend. Extraction at the fill point pulls the fibre cloud away before the film is closed. The format follows the serving. Stick packs are the single-dose format: they give the fast-growing vegan segment the same convenience whey users expect, and they travel in a gym bag or a sample mailer, so a vegan protein stick pack machine has to run narrow film cleanly with a dusty, fibrous powder. Sachets carry larger single servings and trial or subscription packs, and a vegan protein sachet packaging machine gives the extra width a fuller shot of powder needs. VFFS pillow bags cover multi-serving retail and foodservice quantities, where the user scoops from the pack instead of tearing one dose. Dose and output are set per project rather than read off a chart. The dose follows your declared serving weight and the measured bulk density of your own blend. Output follows the format: on stick pack and sachet machines the lane count depends on pack width, so a narrow stick runs more lanes across the same web than a wide sachet, and the packs-per-minute figure moves with it. On VFFS there is no lane multiplication — one cycle is one bag. Mentpack builds the multi-lane stick pack and sachet lines and the VFFS machines used for this product, each with an agitated hopper, an auger dosing group chosen for the blend and dust extraction at the filling station. Format, lane count, film width and dosing group are fixed after a trial with your own material. Typical users are sports nutrition and plant-based supplement brands, meal-replacement and greens-blend producers, and the contract manufacturers and private-label co-packers filling for them for retail, pharmacy and direct-to-consumer channels.
