Pea, rice and hemp proteins are fibrous, low-density and notoriously reluctant to flow. Their particles are irregular and flake-like rather than granular, so the powder interlocks instead of sliding: it bridges over the hopper outlet, forms rat-holes above the dosing screw, then releases in a rush when the arch collapses.
